Energy Security Response for Business Continuity:
Empowering Sasol Suppliers with Solar Energy Solutions

The instability of South Africa’s power supply has posed significant challenges for small businesses, causing operational disruptions, financial losses, and reduced competitiveness. Many SMEs lack the capital to invest in alternative energy solutions, leaving them particularly vulnerable during power outages

The Sasol Siyakha Solar Energy Support Programme is an innovative supplier development initiative that provides SMEs with fully funded solar energy systems tailored to their operational needs. By integrating renewable energy infrastructure directly into small business operations, the programme simultaneously drives sustainability and competitiveness. Participating SMEs benefit from reduced energy costs, reliable power supply, and the ability to reinvest savings into growth and job creation, accelerating inclusive, clean energy adoption within Sasol’s supplier ecosystem.

This initiative forms part of Sasol’s Energy Security Response for Business Continuity, ensuring that small businesses can mitigate the impact of high energy costs, power interruptions, and enhance operational resilience.

About the Initiative

Through the Siyakha Trust, this initiative will provide fully funded solar energy solutions to selected Sasol suppliers, enabling them to transition to a reliable, cost-efficient, and sustainable energy source to support strengthened competitiveness and business resilience.
